I grew up in South Florida attending Ponce De Leon Junior High and Coral Gables Senior High School. Later at the University Of Miami, I majored in music while playing with some of the best rock bands in the Miami area. However as a young man, a career in music was not the only obsession in my life. As a child and teenager I had two passions; I was musically inclined and I loved to fish with my father and two brothers. Growing up in the 1960's and 70's in South Miami, Coral Gables, Coconut Grove and Florida Keys, South Florida was a playground for any kid who loved to fish and still is. I've been a flats and backcountry guide in the Florida Keys and Everglades for close to thirty years in addition to continuing my music career playing electric bass for the Dana Collins Band and others.
I love all kinds of music from rock, jazz, country, blues, and reggae to classical but it all started with the Beatles with me. These days I love to listen to old school classic and progressive rock but artists like Radiohead and the Chili Peppers get equal time on my playlist along with the jazz greats like Miles Davis, Keith Jarrett and Bill Evans. I listen to and study different bass players including Paul McCartney, Will Lee, Jack Bruce, Jaco Pastorius, Flea, Chris Squire, Marcus Miller, Victor Wooten, Bootsy Collins, James Jamerson and my friend and mentor the great Dave LaRue.
